Melinda Leyshon Prior to managing Production Automotive, Mel spent ten years in the publishing sector where she designed and implemented best practice strategies to introduce efficiencies for the Asia Pacific region while maintaining quality. Later, Mel moved to the education sector where she took responsibility for designing and implementing new education programs. In June 2008 Brendon and Mel had a daughter, Olivia, and made the decision to be a hands-on mum. Still wanting to pursue a career in business, Mel took a more active role in the workshop, applying for and receiving a Government Grant in 2009 which enabled her to build a custom-built playroom for Olivia. This enabled her to drive the workshop through a period of significant growth due to an ethical and quality-driven approach to business.Mel loves triathlons and VWs, and when you
visit the workshop you will often find her moving between phone calls and play
doh! In 2011, Mel's commitment to the business, the staff, and to our customers was recognised at the Local Business Awards where she was presented with the Businessperson of the Year award. |
Brendon Leyshon Brendon and Mel purchased Production Automotive in 2006.
After working in the industry for a number of years, Brendon wanted the
opportunity to run a business with a strong focus on ethics and an
unwavering commitment to quality. Brendon undertook his trade certificate at the age of 23, and as a result of his dedication and application obtained one of the highest results in the State. Brendon's first love has always been Volkswagens (apart from his family, of course!) and you'll always see the family in their 1963 Split-window Kombi or 1956 Oval Beetle. His inquisitive nature means he's often thinking outside of the square to find new ways to improve on his old love, hence the number of modification and customisation projects at the workshop! |
Danny Lapteff Danny has been an integral part of Production Automotive for four years. Danny has had over 13 years experience in the automotive repair industry and is very highly regarded. He is an exceptional mechanic whose extensive knowledge of motor vehicles and critical thinking skills make him an excellent diagnostic technician. He is without a doubt one of the best wheel aligners in the country! Danny drives a 1964 VW Beetle which he is gradually restoring.

Production Automotive has grown over the past four years purely through word-of-mouth recommendations from customers. We walk customers through every step of their car's mechanical journey with us, with all invoicing broken down and completely transparent. We can even give you back your old parts if you would like to see the wear and tear.
We will never go ahead with a major repair to your car without first thoroughly explaining the problem and obtaining your approval to proceed.
